Tracks and cables
Off-track garage door and cable repair in Haverhill
If your door has come out of its track, stop using it and don't push it back. It can fall without warning.
Say the town and what the door is doing.

What to do now
Stop using the opener. Running it can bend the track further or break a panel.
Keep everyone away from the opening.
If you can, take a photo from a distance. It helps you describe the damage on the call.
What to leave alone
Springs and cables hold enough force to badly hurt someone. Don't adjust, unwind or replace them yourself. If one is broken, leave it alone and stay clear of the door.
Don't hammer the track back into line or lever a roller into place. The cable can be under full tension even when the door sits low.
Why doors come off
Rollers ride in a steel track on each side. A roller can pop out if the track is bent, a hinge has come loose, a cable has gone slack or something has hit the door.
It usually shows at a bottom corner, where the panel swings out and the door tilts. A cable off its drum means the door is no longer lifting evenly, and that's how a half-raised door falls.
What the repair can involve
Tracks may be straightened or replaced, and damaged panels reinforced or replaced. Ask to have the rollers and cables checked too.
If a panel is cracked, ask whether a matching one is available. If the contractor recommends a whole new door, ask why.
